Squadron Organisation
The Gazelle Squadron adheres to a traditional military structure. All the Squadron personnel are civilian and most are experienced ex-military pilots, engineers and groundcrew, many of whom performed with military air display teams including the ‘The AAC Blue Eagles’ and ‘The RN Sharks’. The Squadron Headquarters is based at Bourne Park and headed up by the Commanding Officer (CO) and the Squadron Sergeant Major (SSM). The Squadron has four Flights:
A Flight is the Air Display Flight.
B Flight is Badger Flight and takes the aircraft to static displays.
C Flight is the Customer Flight and is for those Falcon Aviation customers who have their own aircraft in original military markings and display them as part of the Squadron.
G Flight is the Groundcrew Flight and is made up of ex-military veterans and erstwhile civilian volunteers who help maintain and support the aircraft. Many of the veterans are BLESMA members who have lost limbs or the use of their limbs whilst in the service of their of country.
Lastly but by no means least and without whom the Squadron would not be able to function is Falcon Aviation Ltd, the engineering company.
